Wasel Pro Review

Wasel Pro

One look at the Wasel Pro VPN website, and you will have your doubts as to whether this is really a Middle Eastern VPN company. It certainly looks the part, as Arabic seems to overcrowd the entire website. Even the 24X7 chat feature prominently displays Arabic messages.

And no, contrary to first impressions, Wasel Pro is not an Arabian Company; instead, it is headquartered in Netherlands. Therefore, Wasel Pro is very much a European VPN service provider that concentrates a bit too much on impressing Arabic clients, especially those in the Middle East. Since its inception in 2012, Wasel Pro VPN has been a steadily growing VPN service provider, and we will take a brief look at the company through this Wasel Pro review.

VPN Installation, Configuration & Specifications

Wasel Pro OS

Wasel Pro VPN supports OpenVPN as well as L2TP protocols, and has dedicated apps for Windows, Mac OS, iOS and Android operating systems. The VPN software is available for download from their website, and is easy to install as well as use. All you have to do is sign up to their service and receive the login parameters, after which, you can use the VPN software to connect to the internet over a VPN server.

Linux users can only choose the manual setup option, and the absence of the PPTP protocol is sorely missed. We are not sure why Wasel Pro VPN has ignored this protocol completely, but as of now, manual connection is possible only over the L2TP protocol. Wasel Pro has a useful FAQ section that can help you with the manual VPN configuration process.

If you want more encryption, Wasel Pro offers the option of connecting the existing OpenVPN protocol over a SSH tunnel, which will further encrypt the flow of data, but at the expense of browsing speed. Wasel Pro offers 256 bit encryption as standard across its VPN protocols.

Subscription Cost

Wasel Pro Cost

Wasel Pro VPN is not a cheap VPN service provider, and we are not sure why Wasel Pro is charging such a hefty premium. Monthly subscription stands at $9.99, while the bulk subscription packages for 3 months, 6 months and 12 months cost $9.00, $8.33 and $7.5 per month respectively. We did not find any standout VPN features with this company, and the services are pretty normal and ordinary when compared to other VPN service providers in the same price bracket.

As far as payment options are concerned, Wasel Pro VPN offers multiple payment options varying from Credit cards, Onecard, Western Union, to online payment gateways such as Skrill, Webmoney, Paypal and CashU. There is a free trial on offer, but it is only limited to 10 minutes per day or if you are really unsatisfied with their services, you can enjoy the 7 days money-back guarantee. This does not induce much confidence on the services of the company.

Speed, Reliability & Bandwidth

Wasel Pro VPN does offer unlimited speed and bandwidth, albeit, the speeds are not certainly something to cheer about. You should only expect ordinary browsing speeds, as any VPN connection certainly diminishes the existing browsing speed. While there are no reasons to complain, we certainly expected a bit more in terms of browsing speed for the amount of money that we pay.

Reliability is certainly not a forte for Wasel Pro, as we faced quite a few connectivity issues. Session timeouts were common, and we believe this is due to the fact that the browsing speed suffered due to excessive server load.

Servers & Server Locations

Wasel Pro Server Locations

Wasel Pro has servers installed in 8 different countries, namely US, UK, Germany, France, Netherlands, Turkey and Ukraine. Yes, in terms of coverage for the basic VPN client, these are the normal culprits, and servers in these countries will be sufficient for most basic VPN needs. But that does not justify the cost in accordance with the actual requirements of a VPN user, who requires additional VPN servers, server locations and IP addresses to ensure that the bandwidth and browsing speed does not suffer. The lower number of servers must be a prime reason why we faced lackluster performance values for browsing speeds.

Data Logging Policies & Online Anonymity

Wasel Pro VPN promises a ‘no-logs’ policy, but it is clearly stated in their Agreement/Terms of Usage & Policy that they will deactivate any account if they receive complaints from ISPs, users, companies or any other organizations with regards to illegal activities being carried out through a Wasel Pro VPN account. While we do not support illegal activities using VPN, how can a company take action if they follow a no-logs policy? And adherence to complaints from third parties only means that the browsing data and information is perilous in the hands of the VPN Company.

Customer Support

Full credits go to Wasel Pro VPN for offering good quality customer support around the clock. The live chat function supports both English as well as Arabic, and the support staff is helpful as well as friendly. They do help in offering the best customer service in the industry, and can get your queries answered at the earliest.

Issues & Problems

The main issue with Wasel Pro VPN is their speed, and this is rather the consequence of a lower number of servers. Any VPN service provider that sacrifices its speed due to a lack of resources is certainly not going to find success among the VPN customer base. We were also not too fond of the reliability issues that we faced, which were mainly connectivity issues.

Wasel Pro Review Conclusion

Wasel Pro is a VPN company that has a few good things that can keep the customer happy, but we want them to take a closer look at the pricing and hopefully, add a few more servers so as to improve the actual VPN user experience. Spending a bit more effort on improving their existing VPN infrastructure and resources can certainly help the company in the long run.
