  1. Smartdnsproxy is not quite what it pretends to be, especially when it comes to Netflix. There have been issues streaming Netflix US content to other countries, and even as I’m writing this you can’t stream to your TV or iPad. Engineers are working on the issue, but have been for some time now.

    I am using unblock-us for years now. What is the difference with smart dns regarding services? Can i use smart dns at home on my router and also on my device when not at home?

    1. Hi – the main difference between VPN and Smart DNS from a user perspective, is that the Internet traffic is not encrypted with a Smart DNS. Smart DNS is primarily used for accessing geo-restricted content. Smart DNS may also be faster than VPN since it’s not encrypting traffic on the way. Yes, you should be able to use Smart DNS on both home router and mobile device. Check with your provider on how to set it op correctly.
