Liberty VPN Review

By Paul Nash | 03 February 2015 | No Comments

From its name alone, one will surely figure out what the company really does. It provides internet security and freedom by using an encryption technology. Having a VPN will allow users to be invisible to websites and their ISPs. Their internet activities cannot be tracked or monitored in any way possible. Users can stay anonymous whenever they are surfing the internet. Liberty VPN provides the simplest and safest installation process; anyone can do it themselves without any hustles. Liberty VPN makes sure that your privacy comes first.

1. Servers:
Liberty VPN has servers in some major locations. This includes Switzerland, Germany, Canada, Singapore, Hong Kong, the Netherlands, the UK and the USA. At the moment, it only has limited servers particularly one from each of the mentioned locations. The company does not allow free switching though.

2. Protocols:
Liberty VPN only supports PPTP and L2TP encryptions. There is however a special offers for those that use SSTP. SSTP VPN is only available for users in Germany, United Kingdom and Canada. There is also SSL UK plan that makes use of a 2048-bit encryption system. Users have to wait for 12 long hours upon registration before they can actually use the system/service.

3. Speed:
Speed can be an issue with Liberty VPN. The company has only a limited number of servers which may affect the connection speed. Slowdowns may be experienced from time to time. But users have not made any complaints regarding the speed. With a system that makes does a lot of encryptions, slowdowns are unavoidable. These slowdowns however are just minimal and won’t actually affect the overall speed of the connection. Connection speed will also depend on the location of a user. For example; users in Asia or Middle East that connects to a German server will have a better and faster speed compared to those living in the US.

4. Supported Devices/OS:
With the mentioned supported protocols, Liberty VPN can be compatible with almost all mobile devices. Whether you are using an iPhone or iPad or Android phones or Nokia units, you will be assured that Liberty VPN will work well with these portable devices. All popular computer applications all works well with the Liberty VPN. Such applications are Skype, Yahoo IM, MSN IM and all commonly used browsers (Chrome, Opera, Safari, Firefox and IE). For computer OS’, Windows, Linux and Mac are all supported. For Windows user, the compatible versions are 7, Vista and XP. Android 2.1 is also supported. Check out the instruction page in the official website.

5. Bandwidth:
The company does not really state whether they have bandwidth limitations or none. However, it clears out that P2P file sharing is not allowed. Liberty VPN is very strict when it comes to legality issues. It does not want to risk any form of illegal sharing that can violate copyright policies. There is even a list of do’s and don’ts on its official website. Some of these “illegal” offenses are sharing of accounts, bulk email and abuse of server. An account can be blocked if it violates the terms and agreements. The company is also very strict when it comes to access to their services. It does not allow registrations from users that are not US-allies. Such countries are Cuba, Libya, Iran, Syria, Sudan and North Korea. Nigeria and Vietnam users are also not recognized as legit users since there may be a high probability of online fraud. Be sure to check the website and read about these terms and agreements before you subscribe to such services.

There are no Free-Trial promos with Liberty VPN. It does have a money-back guarantee policy. The refund will only be given within 3 days from subscription. An email requesting for reimbursement or refund is necessary to get your money back. It gets even more complicated. During the testing period, users are only allowed 50MB of bandwidth. If the user wants to test the product by downloading files or watching online, 50MB may not be enough. For those who are interested in the Liberty VPN, here are the plans and prices you can choose from:
