Evernote has been struck by a DDOS attack that caused a considerable disruption to the note making platform’s service, affecting its more than 100 million users.
The company which is based in California has stated that the attack occurred around 14.25 local time, or 22.25 BST, and their team has been working since then to fix the issue, periodically updating Twitter with news.
Evernote’s latest update states that “Evernote is up and running. There may be a hiccup or two for the next 24 hours. We appreciate your patience.”
The site is familiar with cyberattacks as last year, hackers gained access to usernames, email addresses, and encrypted passwords. However this DDOS attack has not caused the same kind of damage. “As is the nature of DDoS attacks, there was no data loss, and no accounts were compromised,” said an Evernote spokeswoman.
