iOS8 Comes With Mac Spoofing Feature

Apple’s much-touted iOS8 may strike a significant victory for privacy advocates, where a user’s Mac address cannot be accessed by Wi-Fi tracking and logging, such as the practices used in department stores for tracking customers.

The discovery was made by Swiss man Frederic Jacobs, who is currently developing an encrypted messaging platform, and reported by The Verge, while skimming through the new features.

As Frederic notes, it’s hoped that this will become an industry standard, which will be a “major blow against data marketing,” says The Verge.
